CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ASHTANGA 1-2 is a flow style class providing an introduction to the primary series within the Ashtanga system.  The class is suitable for all levels (some flow style experience preferred).  Instruction and topics will be tailored to students newer to the Ashtanga practice.   This system of yoga is a practice of "flowing mindfulness", and focuses on the conscious union of breath and movement.  It relies on a prescribed sequence of asanas (poses), which are linked together through the tri-actions of ujjayi breathing, vinyasa (flow), & inner gaze (drishti).

ASHTANGA 2-3 is a flow style class including the full primary series of the Ashtanga system.  This class is suitable for those students already familiar with the primary series and with a strong vinyasa practice of their own.   This system of yoga is a practice of "flowing mindfulness", and focused on the conscious union of breath and movement.  It relies ona prescribed sequence of asanas (poses), which are linked together through the tri-actions of ujjayi breathing, vinyasa (flow) and inner gaze (drishti).  Intermediate to Advanced

EXPLORATIONS IN YOGA incorporates the essentials of yoga:  breath, meditation, and asanas (poses) in a slower, deeper style.   You may find yourself in a pose you've done many times before, but by lingering longer you will have the opportunity to "peel away the layers" and discover something new.   This class is ideal for newer students or anyone looking for a gentler more restorative style.  All Levels  

FLOW & DEEP is a gently intense practice beginning with a vinyasa (flow) style warm-up to create focus and heat within the body.   Then we move to the floor to go gradually deeper into different parts of the body.  Giving us the opportunity to explore deep into areas we may only touch on in other practices.   This class also allows us to train the mind to be still and present as our bodies are still within the asanas (postures).   All Levels

FORREST YOGA is a philosophy developed by Ana Forrest over 30 years ago.  The pose sequencing is intense but compassio nately taught to develop skills in awakening each of the senses.   You will be inspired by the magic of Forrest Yoga and its healing affects while bringing the breath into every cell of your body diminishing chronic pain, stresses and everyday challenges – both mental and physical.   All Levels 

INTRO TO FLOW is a session class for those with little or no previous yoga experience.   In an 8 week session you will learn the basic foundations of vinyasa, or flow, yoga including breathing techniques & essential yoga poses with proper alignment and modifications if needed.   You will learn to link breath with postures to create meditation in movement,the essence of vinyasa.  While the pace is slower than a typical flowclass, you can expect to move, breath and maybe even sweat.  *This classis FREE one time only.  To repeat session, there is a fee.

POWER HOUR - ALL LEVELS is a one hour power flow session class for beginners through advanced focusing on awakening the body and spirit to the day ahead; offering modified poses and pose variations to allow each of us to work at our own level without judgment or comparison.    A challenging class to energize and awaken the body, with emphasis on exploration, alignment, physical condition, breath and spirit.

POWER YOGA BASICS is the standard power flow class with particular emphasis on the foundational postures.  It is still a challenging class with focus on alignment, physical condition, breath and spirit.   Ideal for new students, but also great for all students needing help or a review on basic postures.

POWER YOGA - ALL LEVELS is a power flow class for beginners through advanced; offering modified poses and pose variations to fit every body and spirit.   Each of us working at our own level without judgment or comparison.  A challenging class with focus on alignment, physical condition, breath and spirit.   (Suggested 10 Basics classes before attending.)

PRENATAL YOGA is a session class safe for all stages of pregnancy.   The class is designed to assist the pregnant woman in moving through a comfortable pregnancy, while helping her in labor preparation through the use of concentration, breathing, relaxation and confidence building.   A wonderful environment to share your experience with other mommies to be!
SUGGESTIONS:
~ Bring a sweat towel to all flow classes
~ Do not eat within 2-3 hours before class - do not drink during class but be well nourished and hydrated
~ Do not wear perfumes or scented lotions please
~ Arrive early so classes may begin on time & with no interruptions
~ Inform teacher of any conditions or physical ailments prior to each class

MOST TEACHERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE CLASSES AT NAMASTE YOGA CENTER. "OUT OF STUDIO" PRIVATES MAY BE POSSIBLE – THIS IS DECIDED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS.
